We want to help you waterproof your home, and that's what sets us apart. Our goal is to save you from costly unnecessary construction. If you still have a leak, look to the bottom of the page for our Free Phone Consultation option.

Where to start?

Check your basement:

Note the location of the leak and the duration of the leak. Don’t worry, for the sake of waterproofing, where the water goes after it gets into the basement - we are concerned how to keep it out. Keep a log or journal of when it leaks and how long the leaking lasts. Make a diagram of your floorpan, and annotate the locations of the leaks on the map.

Check For Problems Outside:

Referring to the diagram you made of the leaks, go to the vicinity of the leak outside.

First, you’ll want to check your gutters, downspouts, and downspout extensions, to make sure they are in good working order. Make sure the connections are good, and they are not blocked. Check for leaves or debris in the lines. Does the extension go far enough from the foundation (we recommend 3’).

Second, check the landscape around your home to make sure the direction of the water is flowing away from your house. You want to make sure the slope away from your house is at least 8 degrees.

Finally, make sure the water from your gutters and downspouts has a place to go. It should flow all the way to the City Street where it will at some point enter the City Storm Sewer System.
